Together they are the go-to resource connecting businesses and education

(Broward County, Fla)Broward Education Foundation (BEF) has announced a partnership with Partners In Education (PIE) creating the go-to resource for businesses and organizations that are committed to having a positive impact on Broward County Public Schools, students and teachers.

“There are so many businesses and organizations that want to leave a legacy by supporting education in Broward County Public Schools and they don’t know where to start. Now through this partnership we have expanded our community engagement which means even more students’ lives are positively impacted,” said Christina Fischer, Broward Education Foundation Board Chair. “Partners in Education shares our commitment to serving and improving the nation’s sixth largest school district. Together, we will have a powerful impact on the lives of students in Broward County Public Schools.”

Both organizations were founded in 1983 with similar goals. The mission of PIE is to strengthen and enhance public education in Broward County Public Schools through business and community partnerships while BEF’s mission it to transform the lives of Broward County Public School students through the support of quality education.

“The BEF/PIE partnership creates new synergies between two non-profit professional organizations dedicated to enhancing student learning by building and maintaining effective community and school partnerships,” said PIE President Tim Curtin, Administrative Director, Community Services for Memorial Healthcare System. “This is a win-win for our students, teachers and schools throughout Broward County.”

Through this partnership, BEF and PIE will combine resources and reach more stakeholders who want to donate to particular schools and programs.

“The establishment of this partnership allows us to better utilize our collective resources,” adds Ric Green, a member of the PIE Board of Directors and President and CEO of the Greater Pompano Chamber of Commerce. “By doing this, we feel we will be able to reach and serve more schools and students.”
