Important Information Before You Shop

  • Title 1 Teachers may shop twice a school year. Only once from August through December, then only once from January through June. A missed fall shop doesn’t get a teacher 2 shops in the spring.
  • Teachers may only be in our database at one school and must pick which school, if they teach at more than one. They may then divide the supplies how they wish.
  • Teachers may only shop for themselves.
  • NO SHOPPING COMPANIONS OR CHILDREN ARE ALLOWED INSIDE THE CENTER. THIS IS STANDARD POLICY AT CENTERS AROUND THE COUNTRY FOR LIABILITY REASONS. NO EXCEPTIONS. IF THIS IS A CONCERN, THEN AN APPOINTMENT SHOULD NOT BE SCHEDULED. MINORS UNDER 14 MAY NOT BE LEFT OUTSIDE UNATTENDED.
  • If a teacher can’t make the appointment, they should cancel no later than the day before their shop, to give the shop opportunity to someone else. Late cancellations (cancelling on the day of a shop) are a lost opportunity, because no one else can take that shop.
  • Appointments are in such high demand, any combination of 2 no-shows or late cancellations and the teacher will be ineligible to shop until next school year.
  • When making an appointment, if you receive an error stating that there are ‘No Dates Available,’ this only means that all appointments at that time are full. One week of new dates will be added every Friday between 10 & noon. Note: appointments fill very quickly. We encourage teachers to keep checking back, but others may cancel up to the day before their appointment.
  • Shopping appointments are for a specific date and time-slot. Teachers must be ready to go by the end of their time-slot to shop. Ex: 3-3:45 PM. The teacher’s appointment ends at 3:45 PM regardless of how much they have shopped for. Don’t be late.
  • Teachers MUST show a BCPS ID or Driver’s License when they come to shop.
  • Please contact your school liaison first, for any questions about the center. Liaisons should contact the resource center concerning questions they can’t answer.
  • Please, bring boxes or bags to take supplies back to school. Sometimes we have boxes, but sometimes, we run out.
