Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (February 27, 2023) – Broward Education Foundation is getting a jump on uh oh those “Summer Nights…” with the BrightStar Credit Union’s GREASE Lightnin’ Presented by Office Depot on Friday, May 5 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort.
“Grease” is the word and the theme for Broward Education Foundation’s eagerly anticipated annual fundraiser that features a swell cocktail reception, dynamite silent auction, crackin’ dinner, summer nights of entertainment with a live band, hopelessly devoted to you surprises and more to benefit the teachers and students in Broward County Public Schools.
Guests will be transported back to Rydell High and encouraged to dress to impress in theme with the iconic motion picture. So, whether you’re a fan of the T-Birds or Pink Ladies, expect to see a lot of rolled up jeans and poodle skirts, penny loafers, saddle shoes and of course leather jackets.
“The movie soundtrack has stood the test of time and with the soon to be released “Grease: The Rise of the Pink Ladies,” we knew this would be an opportune time to pay homage to this timeless film,” said Shea Ciriago, CEO of Broward Education Foundation. “We’re looking forward to having a reunion with our generous partners, supporters and friends who make it possible for us to raise much-needed awareness and funds to maximize the quality of education in Broward County Public Schools.”
Proceeds benefit Broward Education Foundation’s transformational programs and initiatives for students and teachers in Broward County Public Schools. Programs include innovative teaching grants to advance PreK-12 achievement; school supplies and educational materials for Title I students and teachers; and scholarships for qualified high school seniors. Each year, the Foundation contributes more than $4 million to Broward County Public Schools, serving as the catalyst for educational excellence.
