FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (February 28, 2024) – Calling all Parrotheads, Broward Education Foundation is bringing island vibes to its signature event, the BrightStar Credit Union’s Fins Up: A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett Presented by Broward Teachers Union on Friday, May 3 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort located at 1111 N. Ocean Drive in Hollywood.

Whether you’re a fan of Buffett’s iconic music or just want to kick back with some festive fun, Fins Up will be a perfect opportunity to do so, all while benefiting Broward County Public Schools’ students and educators.

Guests will dress in their finest island attire – Hawaiian shirts, colorful leis, straw hats and flip flops are encouraged for the ultimate island party. The evening kicks-off with a 5 O’clock Somewhere cocktail reception and amazing silent auction, followed by a delicious dinner with dancing and live entertainment. A top tribute band will make guests feel as if they’re on island time as they dance the night away to Buffett’s timeless hits like “Margaritaville,” “Come Monday” and “Cheeseburger in Paradise.”

“We pride ourselves on hosting exceptional themed events each spring and with Jimmy Buffett’s passing last year we knew we had to return to Margaritaville,” said Shea Ciriago, CEO of Broward Education Foundation. “We are so grateful for our generous partners and supporters that enable us to raise much-needed funds to maximize the quality of education in Broward County Public Schools.”

Proceeds benefit Broward Education Foundation’s transformational programs and initiatives for students and teachers in Broward County Public Schools. Each year, the Foundation contributes more than $4 million to Broward County Public Schools.

Individual tickets are $175 for BrightStar Credit Union’s Fins Up! A Tribute to Jimmy Buffett, presented by Broward Teachers Union with various partnership levels starting at $1,500.
