(Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) – Broward Education Foundation’s (BEF) Tools for School Broward has launched its annual back-to-school supply drive.
Tools for Schools Broward provide teachers from Title I schools the opportunity to shop for their students and classrooms twice a year at absolutely no cost. These essential supplies provide students with an increase of self-esteem and an equal learning environment for all.
“A small donation goes a long way for a child in need of school supplies,” said Thomas Severino, CEO of Broward Education Foundation. “The donations we collect over the summer will help our students and teachers get what they need to have a successful school year.”
School supplies that are needed include 100-page composition books, glue sticks, 24-pack crayons, dry erase markers, colored pencils, two-pocket folders, pink erasers, filler paper, pencils and pencil cases.
Donations can be dropped off at Tools for School Broward, 2300 West Copans Road in Pompano Beach or the Children’s Services Council, 6600 West Commercial Boulevard in Lauderhill.
Businesses also can request bins to collect donations from customers and employees and monetary donations can be made on BrowardEdFoundation.org. A $50 cash donation will fill an entire backpack with much needed school supplies.
