FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Do you know a graduate of Broward County Public Schools who is making a difference in our community or in education? The Broward Education Foundation wants to know.
The only 501(c)3 direct support organization of Broward County Public Schools is now accepting nominations for its 2019 Hall of Fame Awards at browardeducationfoundation.org/nominate for the following awards:
- Lifetime Achievement Award — presented to an alumnus who has made an indelible mark in the community
- Outstanding Achievement Award — presented to alumni who have made significant achievements in any field
- Education Achievement Award, presented to alumni who have dedicated their careers to public education.
Nominations will be accepted through July 12, 2019.
Hall of Fame honorees last year included Jeffrey R. Dion, executive director of the National Compassion Fund, which partnered with Broward Education Foundation to disseminate funds from the official Stoneman Douglas Victims Fund; Christopher L. Smith, corporate attorney with Tripp Scott; Bob Swindell, CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance; Angeline H. Flowers, principal of Charles Drew Elementary School; Barbara J. Myrick, general counsel for the School Board of Broward County; and Michael J. Ramirez, cadre director of the Office of School & Performance Accountability for Broward County Public Schools.
“It’s always amazing to see how many graduates of Broward County Public Schools are shining stars in our community and in education,” said Shea Ciriago, Broward Education Foundation Executive Director. “We look forward to recognizing distinguished graduates from our public schools again this year.”
Broward Education Foundation’s Hall of Fame Awards were created in 2013 to highlight exemplary graduates of Broward County Public Schools who have made positive contributions to education, the community and have achieved success in their careers.
