(Fort Lauderdale, Fla) – As part of the largest and most comprehensive effort to prepare Broward County Public School students for the upcoming school year, Broward Education Foundation’s Tools For Schools store received a donation of 750 sackpacks from Office Depot Foundation.
“It is our mission to make sure that every child has the right tools to achieve success in school,” said Office Depot Foundation President Mary Wong. “School is challenging enough on its own, and when you’re unable to come prepared with the basic essentials for learning, it’s nearly impossible. We want to give every kid a fair chance.”
The specially designed, drawstring-style sackpacks come in seven bright and fun patterns. Each one includes a zippered pouch containing essential school supplies courtesy of Kids in Need Foundation.
“The sad reality is that an increasing number of our community’s families must choose between putting food on their tables and purchasing school supplies. Broward County Public School teachers from Title I schools know what their students need to succeed in the classroom,” said Broward Education Foundation Director of Marketing Pejay Ryan. “Thanks to generosity of Office Depot Foundation, Kids in Need Foundation and community donors, our teachers shop for their students in need at our Tools For Schools Broward store at no cost. We’re proud to partner with them in making a difference and in building Broward County’s future leaders, one child at a time.”
