(Broward County, Fla) – Now in its 35th year of helping students and teachers in Broward County Public Schools, Broward Education Foundation’s annual Back to School Supply Drive ensures that students who need supplies the most are equipped for success. Broward Education Foundation launches its annual Back to School Supply Drive countywide on Wednesday, July 18.

Local businesses large and small, educational institutions, chambers of commerce, municipalities and civic organizations are encouraged to collect much needed supplies and partner with Broward Education Foundation, a GuideStar ranked 501(c)3 and highly trusted community resource.

“When students lack basic school supplies and tools to succeed, their self-esteem is inevitably lowered and an uneven learning environment is created in classrooms,” said Shea Ciriago, executive director of Broward Education Foundation. “Teachers in Broward County Public Schools know best what their students need to succeed and can shop for free for their students in need at Broward Education Foundation’s school supply center thanks to the community that rallies to support Broward’s official Back to School Supply Drive.”

Ciriago continued, “This year, we are encouraging companies to challenge each other to see who can collect the most flat pink erasers- they are an extremely popular item.”

Among those participating this year are: BrightStar Credit Union, NBC6 & TeleMundo 51, Alorica, Broward College-Institute of Public Safety, CBS Interactive, Centennial Bank, CT Corporation System, Dometic Corporation, Florida Atlantic University – Davie Campus, Forecast Trading Corporation, Grover Corlew, Hamilton Group Funding, Life Extension, Orangetheory Fitness, Pierson Grant Public Relations, Ryan LLC, People’s Trust Insurance, StevenDouglas, SunTrust , Town of Davie, Tromberg Law Group, UBS Financial Services Inc., USA Self Storage and Zumba Fitness LLC.
